Executive Director and Co-founder

Hi, I’m W. Alex Kaujja, the Executive Director and co-founder of Hope Sanctuary Foundation Uganda. As a social worker with over 8 years of experience, I’ve dedicated my life to working on women and children-led projects across the country. My deep love and passion for children inspired me to establish this foundation. I love and honor Christ, and my faith in God has been a cornerstone in our journey. Through His guidance, we have grown as a foundation, rescuing children and women from abuse, restoring their dignity, and empowering them socially and economically to achieve their independence.

Nakanda Sophia

Program Director and Co-founder

Hello, I’m Nakanda Sophia, the Program Director and co-founder of Hope Sanctuary Foundation Uganda. As an administrator by profession, I discovered my true passion in helping women and children thrive through our foundation. My deep relationship with God and love for Jesus have been central to my work here. Being a part of this mission fills my heart with joy and purpose, as we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of women and children.

Provia Katusiima

Children’s Caretaker

Hello, I’m Provia Katusiima, a young mother and the children’s caretaker at Hope Sanctuary Foundation Uganda. From the very beginning, I felt a special connection to this foundation. I was divinely chosen to be the mother of the house through a vision our Executive Director had while searching for someone to fill this important role. I love being part of this foundation and work tirelessly to ensure that our children are loved, well-cared for, and given the opportunity to thrive.

Mr. Nyende Richard Charles

Chairperson of the Board of Directors

Greetings, I’m Mr. Nyende Richard Charles, the Chairperson of the Board of Directors at Hope Sanctuary Foundation Uganda. As a Lecturer by profession, I have a profound love for children and women and a strong desire to see our community thrive despite the many social challenges we face. My background in education fuels my commitment to supporting our foundation’s mission, ensuring that we provide a nurturing and empowering environment for those we serve.

Pastor Michael Sonko

Hi, I’m Pastor Michael Sonko, the lead Pastor at New Zion Ministries Church, Iganga, and the proud Patron of Hope Sanctuary Foundation Uganda. I joined this wonderful Foundation at the invitation of our Executive Director and was later chosen by the Board of Directors to be the Patron and Spiritual Head. My role is to help guide us in achieving our vision while staying true to Christian principles and values. It’s an honor to support this mission and witness the transformative impact we have on the lives of women and children.
